When Kata and Jim approached us to build their Garden Room we met several times to discuss their needs and requirements. Once we were all clear on that vision we were in a position to begin the work.
The area needed to be cleared of some small trees. The ground was quite level, so there was minimal groundwork to carry out prior to installation. We removed the existing fence posts and panels to the rear of the property as the new Garden Room was being built up to the line of the rear boundary. See our PMG Build page for full construction details.
On all front facing elevations we fitted heathered moss James Hardieplank VL cladding and on the back external elevation we fitted James Hardieplank lap board.Â
Kata wanted to maximise as much natural light as possible so we incorporated in the front elevation, a single glazed door and window as well as a window on the left and rear elevations.
White fascia and soffit boards were fitted to finish the roof line and match the doors and windows.
Kata wanted several sockets to enable various configurations in the office. We also installed a 2 kw heater for the cooler months of the year.Â
Externally, we fitted soffit downlights to the soffit.
Kata chose an oak laminate for the office. Laminate is a very practical choice of flooring for a Garden Room due to its durable and hard wearing properties.
Lastly, we fitted and painted the skirting board to complete.
Pete was very helpful and clear throughout the process, from design to construction and minor snags. We’re very happy with the results and would recommend PMG to anyone looking to build a garden room.
Functional home office combined with an adequate area for the family to enjoy and relax.

A perfectly balanced WFH solution and family area.
