When Mark approached us to build his Garden Room we had several meetings to discuss his needs and requirements. Once we were all clear on that vision we were in a position to begin the work.
The Garden Room is sited on sloping ground to the rear of the garden. This meant that the entrance to the Garden Room was quite high compared to the back of the Garden Room.
Landscaping was carried out at the end of the build to enable easy access. See our PMG Build page for full construction details.
On the back and side elevations we fitted anthracite grey James Hardieplank cladding and on the angled front elevations we fitted western red cedar. Mark wanted to maximise as much natural light as possible so we incorporated French doors and a full height window in the front elevations. Anthracite grey fascia and soffit boards were fitted to finish the roof line and match the doors and window.
Mark wanted several sockets to enable various configurations in the office. We also installed a HDMI cable and a 2 kw heater for the cooler months of the year.Â
Externally, we fitted soffit downlights to the soffit as well as 2 external electrical sockets.
Mark chose an oak laminate for the office. Laminate is a very practical choice of flooring for a Garden Room due to its durable and hard wearing properties.
Lastly, we fitted and painted the skirting board to complete.
If I could give PMG a sixth star, I most definitely would.
After long and careful consideration of all the local Garden Room companies, I chose PMG to undertake the build of our new garden room/office.
After introducing Pete to my long imagined and bespoke design, he was able to make it all reality. Furthermore his experience, skills and guidance meant the end result is far better than I could have imagined.
Pete was on time every morning and worked as long as he needed to get that day’s task complete… and everyday there was visible progress.
Most of the work was done by Pete and Ant during a cold and miserable February and March…. yet everybody maintained a positive approach. Even when the specialist tradesmen (plasterer and spark) visited, they all worked together seamlessly.
And all this was achieved despite me interrupting them every hour with my best Alan Partridge impression.
Pete and his team were a pleasure to have around. He managed my expectations and even exceeded them. The result is a very nicely finished, bespoke garden room completed on budget and under time.
I cannot recommend PMG Garden Rooms highly enough!
